My approach to the Halo 3 boards varied depending on how they were going to be used. During the story writing process, I did quick sketches (I used a pilot razor point pen) for meetings. Once I knew that I would be responsible for all the in-engine cinematic lighting, I began working out my lighting plan with the boards. I started with grey tone on scanned sketches, and then moved to full color on the wacom. I had a very specific color journey in mind for all the cinematics. To keep the boards fast, I used a thick brush at something like 25% opacity and just kinda scribbled them. They work if you squint your eyes. (shown in no particular order)
