The Long Kiss Goodnight storyboards (1995)

The Long Kiss Goodnight was the first of my many collaborations with director Renny Harlin. I produced concept illustrations and storyboarded the entire movie.
I did not live far from the production offices at the time, so we were able to have plenty of in person meetings. In the beginning, Renny would provide me with a few thumbnails and a shot list. Over time, it reduced to just a written shot list, and later, he just left me to forge ahead with the script, opting to provide feedback notes for any additions or changes.
As a storyboard artist, I always valued and continued to work on my ability to quickly comprehend and get in sync with the director and their vision. It's a skill that has served me well throughout my career. There will always be a client.
Oh, and if Geena Davis happens to be in the production meetings, try not to grin at her the entire time. My cheeks ached after every meeting.
